IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD-(2014 SERMON SERIES)

The misuse of prescribed drugs among people has continued to be the bane of governance in the society.  When drugs are used as prescribed by the physician, patients usually recovered tremendously from their sickness. Do you know that words the most powerful drugs used in the universe? Charles Capps said that “Words are containers. They contain faith, or fear, demotion, promotion and they produce after their kinds either positive or negative….”

Moreover, do you know that “The six greatest words on earth are: Control thyself”-; Know thy self”-; Give thyself”-. Jesus Christ on one occasion teaching about the importance of the “Word” said, let your yes be yes and no be no, anything after this is evil. Our objective in this series will be to help you to learn more about the “Word of God”; from its beginning, its impact and how you could apply it to your life, home, business, Christian journey, proclaim the gospel and help others to grow. .The title says “In the Beginning Was the Word”.

The gospel according to the book of John recorded that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (Jn 1:1).You will notice few things in this verse; the cap ‘W’for Word, the repetition of the ‘Word ‘three times and ‘God ‘twice with reference to “the beginning”. Reading again through the passage, John said that the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us……….(Jan 1:14).From all indications and from the way John wrote in this passage, the term ‘Word’ refers to Jesus Christ the forgotten Son of God who has been from the beginning of the world. For example John said….. He was in the world, and the world was made by him.. .……He came unto his own…… (Jn 1:10-11).

Moreover, in Revelation, we had another confirmation that Jesus Christ is the Word. John said that saw somebody dressed in a robe dipped in blood and His name is the Word of God……..on His robe and on his thigh he has a name written “KING OF KINGS AND LORDS OF LORDS” (Rev.19:13-16). Jesus Christ was the only one whose robe was dipped in the blood in other to save mankind from eternal death through His crucifixion on the cross of Calvary.

The Word of God in you and spoken out of your mouth will set the power of God loose around you.So we will look at different life and Christian issues as it relates to the Word of God. But we will beginning with Jesus who has been in the beginning. This series will bring you healing and deliverance. It will bring you a full supply and protect you from danger. It will revitalize, empower and strengthen you.I don’t care what you’re facing in this new year, or what dilemma you’re in.If you learn to live by the spoken Word of God and keep speaking it, things will change and you will experience supernatural overflow and excel in all things.

In conclusion, Jesus Christ is The Word of God and the Word is a living seed, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. There is no situation, problem, trials, difficulty, trail, warfare, mountain, hill and valley that is greater that the Word of God. Get ready and fasting your seat belt, pray and ask God to inspire you to receive His Word throughout this season. Amen.
